lyrics

Got Enough Rope

Bag of bones in a junk shop suit
Gonna walk the line better draw it thicker

Tee-total tally up what you owe
Do what you can but they want it quicker

How many who are theys begging and barking
It is what it is better take it and like it

Go getter go get ‘em don’t give up
Your money and your life is it that enticing?

I found a rope to lower me down
Got a knife in the back and a lemon twist
Sending out a call, anybody there? I keep what’s left tied to my wrist

Hell Hell Hell with you
You say I can’t but I’m going to
Hell Hell Hell with you
You say I can’t but I’m going to

Two-faced fakers fetching compliments
Tell you who to talk to and who to talk about

Spray painted sycophants walking on water
Can’t read a word without moving their mouths

Fake it til you make it made it out of here
Only way to win is to play the game alone

The gang’s all here let’s get it together
Carve out a space and make it our own

I found a rope to raise me up
Left a rented room and my favorite chair
Raise me up or lower me down
I’ve got enough rope to get me out of here

Hell Hell Hell with you
You say I can’t but I’m going to
Hell Hell Hell with you
You say I can’t but I’m going to

I've got enough rope to get me out of here
I've got enough rope to get me out of here
I've got enough rope to get me out of here
I've got enough rope

about

The Big Store Long Beach, California

Long Beach based power pop/punk rock and roll trio. Baron Norris (guitar and vocals) and Hiroshi Yamazaki (drums) bonded over a love of The Heartbreakers and enlisted Chris Barfield to play like Bruce Foxton of The Jam.

Arch, deadpan, vocals over sharp, guitars form the basis of these catchy tunes. Think early nineties via The Replacements and Violent Femmes and they might just draw you in.
